Arran Macleod, a member of the product liability team at Penningtons Manches, said: “Overheated and spontaneously igniting battery packs could lead to disastrous consequences. Due to the high demand for newer and more exciting technology, it often seems that manufacturers rush to bring a new product to the customer.
Due to the increasing rate at which customers purchase technology, it is more important than ever that all technology is tested rigorously. This is particularly true for companies that rely on other manufacturers to provide parts of their technology, such as Fujitsu and Panasonic.
